Donations
Toy & Joy Makers relies on donations of toys and cash for supplemental toy purchases. We also rely on volunteers to help with toy distribution during the holiday season and with storage at our distribution center during the rest of the year.
Each child receives several toys suitable for his/her age.
There just isn't room here to enumerate all the clubs, business firms, civic groups, etc. that donate so much time, energy, and money to this worthwhile project. Portland, as a unified city, gets together as one working unit. Without their support, the program would fail. Many firms and groups donate money or toys in lieu of having a Christmas party, to the Toy & Joy Makers effort.

Donating Toys
◇ Drop off locations
◇ Donation Policy
At Toy & Joy Makers, we accept donations from a wide range of businesses and citizens throughtout the Portland Metropolitan area. With these donations, we are able to complete our mission of assisting qualified families with toys for their children. However, we cannot accept donations from groups or individuals that would be detrimental to the Toy & Joy Makers or Portland Fire & Rescue brands, and shall be conistent with City of Portland guidelines. Donations determined to be unacceptable will be declined, returned or provided to an alternate agency.
All toy donations recieved by Toy & Joy Makers become the sole property of said organization. Toy & Joy Makers can dispose of all donations as they deem most appropriate.
Donating Cash
• Cash donations can be dropped off at any fire station or mailed to our office in NE Portland.
• You can also make a direct online donation via PayPal.
• You can also make an indirect donation by shopping on Amazon Smile and designating "Toy and Joymakers Program Portland Bureau of Fire" as your supported charity.
Donating Miscellaneous Goods
For miscellaneous kinds of donations (such as office supplies, vehicles, stocks, real estate, etc.), please write to our executive staff at
toynjoymakers@gmail.com.
How We Use Donations
Because of our all-volunteer year-round staff and seasonal workers, our overhead expenses are very low, only about 2%. The remaining 98% goes to buy those kinds of toys which client families would like but which were not donated.
